Catherine Alvarez, a business owner and mother born in Mathis, San Patricio County, Texas, is running for Congress in TX-15 as a Democrat. Alvarez is passionate about fairness, community, family, and Texas values. She believes that the people of TX-15 deserve a representative who will address racial equity, gun violence prevention, and a fair minimum wage. As a lifelong Texan, Alvarez is committed to fighting for the issues that matter most to her constituents.
Racial Equity
As your representative, I vow to fight for equal treatment, regardless of race, in legal standing, healthcare access, and economic opportunity, because every Texan deserves to have their humanity respected and their potential realized.
Gun Violence Prevention
As a lifelong resident of TX-15, I’ve seen firsthand the impact gun violence has had on our community. We need federal resources for crime reduction, and to pass common sense safety measures like universal background checks to keep our families safe.
Fair Minimum Wage
I stand for a fair minimum wage because $7.25 is half the value of a living wage in TX-15. Progressive companies now realize that paying a minimum wage of $15 per hour is not only good for business but also good for the economy.
